We’ve got something for everyone during this Halloween Midterm Break! Following our very successful Summer Program we have continued to add more skill and apparatus workshops to our midterm schedule. Continue reading for full information on what’s in store! We expect that these classes, camps and workshops will book out quickly like those previously held.
A reminder that no recreation classes are running during 26th Oct – 1st Nov inclusive. As well as this no Squad, Competitive Team or Advanced Team classes run on October 31st. These groups will be emailed their schedules for the week.
HALLOWEEN CAMP
Tuesday 29th & Wednesday 30th Oct 1pm – 4pm €45 member / €50 non member
Camp caters for children aged 4 to 15 years of age from beginners to experienced gymnasts. For beginners camps are a great way to have fun and to try the wonderful sport of gymnastics out. For experienced gymnasts camps are a great way to get that extra bit of training in to help improve their skill level and work to get closer to achieving their gymnastics goals! Gymnasts will work on all apparatus in the gym. Children will be grouped together by age and experience level in order to allow the best possible progress, challenge and enjoyment from camp.
Camp begins with a group warm up and stretch to prepare the gymnasts for the day ahead where they will work on Floor, Vault, Bars, Beam and Fast Track (trampoline). In the middle gymnasts will have a snack break to replenish their energy! As with our classes, our camps are progressive with lots of new skill development happening throughout every day at camp, every day is fun, different and never the same!

Has your child wanted to try gymnastics and you are apprehensive about signing up for a term as you are unsure if they will like it? These once off weekly classes are the perfect way to introduce children to gymnastics!
Gymnastics teaches the fundamental movement and sports skills that are at the core of every other sport. Fundamental movement skills include skills like climbing, swinging, balancing and landing. It develops the ABCs of athleticism: agility, balance, coordination and speed.Children can swing on the bars, jump on the trampoline, learn a cartwheel or a handstand! Artistic gymnastics is an amazing sport to be involved in!
WORKSHOPS
BARS
Bar Basics 31st Oct 2.00 – 3.30pm €15
All kids love swinging out of the bars! Our bars class will work on developing basic bar skills and strength. We will cover swings, up-hip circles, casts and back hip circles during this workshop.Suitable for age 4+
Upstarts Workshop 29th Oct 4.15 – 5.45pm €15
This workshop puts focus on the tricky upstart. It is an important and tricky to master skill that is used as both a mount and an element or connecting skill in a bar routine. This workshop is not for beginners but for gymnasts who already have a relative amount of experience, age 7+, current members only.
FLOOR
Handstand Workshop 31st Oct 2.00 – 3.15pm €12.50
Handstands are one of the most popular gymnastics skills, from the playground to Crossfit every child and teen want to be able to hold a handstand! This class will help build strength and balance in all variations of handstand. We’ll break handstands down and scale them back to build them back up to a perfect handstand hold. Suitable for age 4+, beginners welcome.
Walkover Workshop 1st Nov 3pm – 4.15pm €12.50
Gymnasts will have the opportunity to focus solely on learning and improving their forward and backward walkover skills. Walkovers are key to learning the much sought after forward & back handsprings, we recommend taking both workshops as they compliment each other. Suitable for girls age 6+.
Tumbling Workshops

The number one skill all gymnasts want to achieve is the back flip! Our coaches will help gymnasts get closer to mastering that all important and most desired skill! Flip workshop will cover both forward and backward tumbling skills such as front handsprings, back flips and front somersaults! Tumbling is built on a framework of skill development—one leading to the next. Everything will be broken down into all the fundamental shapes and pre requisites needed to master these cool skills and we will strip away those bad habits learned at home on trampolines all in the safest learning environment possible, with the ultimate goal of connecting skills to form tumbling passes. Suitable for age 7+ with gymnastics experience.
GYMABLE ADDITIONAL NEEDS CLASS
Friday 1st November 1pm – 1.45pm €10
Gymnastics is an inclusive sport and in this class our coaches will work to adapt activities around your childs physical, sensory and learning requirements. So whether it’s the fast track or the bars, whatever it is your child wants to try out, let them find out what they are capable of! Once you have booked we will contact you to discuss the class further and understand how we can best adapt our gymnastics classes to your childs requirements. Children can be assisted in class by parents. Numbers are small, so places are very limited. Suitable for children age 5 – 12 years old. We will contact you for more information once you have booked in. Please note more classes may be added in August.
Parent & Child Play Session
1st Nov 2pm – 3pm €5 per child
These fun sessions provide parents and young children with a stimulating play environment that is the key to starting children on the sporting pathway and getting them active for life. A good pre-school gym experience can provide social, physical, lingual & intellectual, creative & emotional awareness and improve concentration, competence & confidence. It also sets children firmly on the path to being active for life whilst playing in the safe gymnastics environment. The sessions are a great way to spend quality time with your child, the time improves bonding between child and parents through exercise and play in a safe and stimulating gymnastic environment! Coaches will be on hand to assist parents to ensure everything is safe, but how long and which apparatus the gymnast goes to is up to them and the parent! Suitable for children from a couple of months to 4 years old – crawlers, furniture surfers to walkers!
To ensure that we are not over booked, you must pre-register (free) prior to attending, payment of €5 per child attending is made at the training centre in cash (no cards accepted). Book into the session date to pre-register.
All children attending must have Non-Member Compulsory membership booked. This is an insurance fee and the payment for the first class. Members who have already paid this since September 2019 do not have to pay this again, you are covered until 31st August 2020. Please note the fee must be paid for any child who enters through the drop off area and will be on any of the equipment, including matting. Babies are welcome to stay in a car seat or a sling.
