13 gymnasts from our Squad and Competitive Advanced Recreation programs represented Sugarloaf Gymnastics at the Gymnastics Ireland National Series Women’s Artistic Level 3-5 and 6-9 Plus All Around competition at the National Indoor Arena in Blanchardstown on March 30th – 31st. 1500 gymnasts from Men’s and Women’s Artistic, Rhythmic, Trampolining and Tumbling competed making it a very busy weekend.
As always our gymnasts represented Sugarloaf Gymnastics superbly showing great confidence during their routines, with almost all of the girls performing solid beam routines with no falls and bar routines receiving bonus points from the judges. They showed beautiful floor routines as well as powerful vaults.
The National All Around competition is a very difficult event to medal in with only 3 medals up for grabs so a huge congratulations must go to the following:
- Laoise Johnston 3rd All Around Level 4 U9
- Lucy McGettigan 1st All Around Level 3 U9
- Eve Smyth 2nd All Around Level 3 U9
Many of our gymnasts scored within the top 8 on the different apparatus in their level/age group, which in doing so means that they will qualify to the National Super Series Challenge competition in July.
Well done to all of the girls who competed and worked hard in preparation for the competition.
