COMPULSORY WORKSHOP/ CLASS INSURANCE FEE
Any child who is not a current member of Sugarloaf Gymnastics must have this included with their booking for workshops/classes – with the exception of attendees of the Parent & Child class. This fee is per child. This can be seen as the first option in the drop down menu in the payments section.
GYMNASTICS CAMP
20th & 21st February 1.00pm – 4.00pm age 4+
2 days = €40 member / €50 non member
1 day = €25 member / €30 non member
Camp caters for children from beginners to experienced gymnasts. For beginners camps are a great way to have fun and to try the wonderful sport of gymnastics out. For experienced gymnasts camps are a great way to get that extra bit of training in to help improve their skill level and work to get closer to achieving their gymnastics goals! Gymnasts will work on all apparatus in the gym. Children will be grouped together by age and experience level in order to allow the best possible progress, challenge and enjoyment from camp.
Camp begins with a group warm up and stretch to prepare the gymnasts for the day ahead where they will work on Floor, Vault, Bars, Beam and Fast Track (trampoline). In the middle gymnasts will have a snack break to replenish their energy! As with our classes, our camps are progressive with lots of new skill development happening throughout every day at camp, every day is fun, different and never the same!
Please note that 4 year olds must be able to go to the toilet themselves without needing any help to attend.
Bars Workshops
Bar Basics
17th February 5.45 – 7.15pm age 6+ €15
All kids love swinging out of the bars! Our bars class will work on developing basic bar skills and strength. We will cover swings, up-hip circles and back hip circles during this workshop.
Upstarts Workshop
19th February 3.00 – 4.00pm current members age 7+ €11
A focus in upstarts, the key but tricky skill for advancing a basic bar routine. This workshop is not for beginners but for gymnasts who already have a relative amount of experience.
Floor Workshops
Cartwheel Workshop
19th February 3.00 – 4.00pm €11
A chance to focus solely on this very important gymnastics skill which some children can find tricky. If gymnasts master the cartwheel they will move on to work round off’s, giving them the essential link skill to a round off back handspring! A strong cartwheel on floor will be easy to do on the beam. Suitable for children aged 5 – 9 yrs.
Handstand Workshop
17th February 4.15 – 5.30pm age 5+ €15
Handstands are one of the most popular gymnastics skills, from the playground to Crossfit every child and teen want to be able to hold a handstand! This class will help build strength and balance in all variations of handstand. We’ll break handstands down and scale them back to build them back up to a perfect handstand hold.
Walkover Workshop
19th February 3.00 – 4.00pm girls age 7+ €11
Gymnasts will have the opportunity to focus solely on learning and improving their forward and backward walkover skills. Walkovers are key to learning the much sought after forward & back handsprings, we recommend taking both classes. Suitable for girls age 7+.
Flips Workshop
February 21st 4.15 – 5.45pm age 7+ €15
The number one skill all gymnasts want to achieve is the back flip! Our coaches will help gymnasts get closer to mastering that all important and most desired skill! Flip workshop will cover both forward and backward tumbling skills such as front handsprings, back flips and front somersaults!Tumbling is built on a framework of skill development—one leading to the next. Everything will be broken down into all the fundamental shapes and pre requisites needed to master these cool skills and we will strip away those bad habits learned at home on trampolines all in the safest learning environment possible! For current members or children with gymnastics experience age 7+
Beam Workshop

This class builds confidence on beam working on all the basic drills & skills needed to be confident beam worker. We will cover the essential first skills to learn handstands and cartwheels where gymnasts may naturally lack confidence in performing these skills.

Has your child wanted to try gymnastics and you are apprehensive about signing up for a term as you are unsure if they will like it? These once off weekly classes are the perfect way to introduce children to gymnastics! Book 1 class, book 4, it’s up to you!
Gymnastics teaches the fundamental movement and sports skills that are at the core of every other sport. Fundamental movement skills include skills like climbing, swinging, balancing and landing. It develops the ABCs of athleticism: agility, balance, coordination and speed.Children can swing on the bars, jump on the trampoline, learn a cartwheel or a handstand! Artistic gymnastics is an amazing sport to be involved in, whether you are a beginner, a gymnast with previous experience or a current member hoping to improve your skills, we’ve got a class for you!
PARENT & CHILD PLAY SESSION
Thursday 19th February 2.00 – 2.55pm €5 per child
Saturday 22nd February 9.20 – 10.15am €5 per child
These sessions allow your young child to discover the world of gymnastics with you by their side. You will enjoy unstructured play in a friendly setting with coach guidance on hand. These sessions give parents the chance to have fun with their young children in a safe and stimulating gymnastic environment! Children fun through unstructured play becoming familiar with the equipment, climbing, crawling and walking.
Parents attend with children and there are always qualified coaches in attendance to assist and advise but during this session parents are responsible for their children. Suitable for young children from crawlers, furniture surfers to walkers! Our little gymnasts currently attending range in age from a couple of months old to 4 years.
There are 3 steps in attending Parent & Child Sessions:

3️⃣Ensure to bring €5 cash to the training centre, we do not have card facilities
