Our July Summer Program is packed with lots of exciting gymnastics fun for everyone! We have so much on offer at Wicklow’s leading gymnastics facility so we have broken it out into a week by week account so you can plan your gymnastics in July! We are so excited for a fun summer full of cool gymnastics, especially with the Olympics coming soon! Due to current Covid restrictions imposed, numbers are strictly limited for each session or workshop varying between 4 – 10 max. Please ensure to read our Covid specific information here.
Prices for each session or workshop can be seen by clicking through to the payment system via the “Enrol Here” button. You can opt to pay in full or in 2 instalments, please note if booking more than 1 camp you will need to pay for on item in full and the other in instalments, so ensure to select the correct method on booking! Receive a discount when more than 1 is booked per child or for siblings also booked to attend, in the one transaction.

WEEK 1 6TH – 9TH JULY
CAMPS
Gymnastics Summer Camp
What’s it about? For beginners camps are a great way to have fun and to try the wonderful sport of gymnastics out. For experienced gymnasts camps are a great way to get that extra bit of training in to help improve their skill level and work to get closer to achieving their gymnastics goals! Gymnasts will work on all apparatus in the gym. Our camps are mixed age and mixed experience but children will be grouped together by age and experience level in order to allow the best possible progress, challenge and enjoyment from camp.

Who: Boys & girls age 5+ with or without previous gymnastics experience.
Mini Gym Camp
What’s it about? A shorter in length camp for the youngest gymnasts. It may be shorter but it’s filled with so much fun! Children will work on their motor skills, balance and agility through learning the basics of gymnastics all the while building strength and confidence as well as meeting news friends. Camp numbers limited to 8 places.

Mini Gym Session
What’s it about? Mini Gymmers will enjoy an introduction to the wonderful world of gymnastics and all it has to offer! They will learn to take turns, take direction and have lots of fun through the learning the basics of gymnastics!

Who: Boys & girls age 3.5 – 4 yrs. Children must be born before July and be 3.5 yrs, be fully toilet trained and able to communicate verbally. Please note that parents do not stay during the session.

Round Off & Back Handspring Prep Workshop
What’s it about? The workshop will focus on the primarily on the Round Off which is an important and powerful moved needed to be mastered correctly in order to build up speed to do multiple back handsprings. Gymnasts will also work on the essential strengthening and shaping for the back handspring on floor. We’ll work towards piecing the perfect Round Off and Back Handspring together getting closer to fully achieving the skills. A follow on from this workshop would be booking into the Back and Front Handspring Workshop.

Who: Suitable for boys & girls age 8+, especially those doing these skills on their trampoline at home who need guidance on how to do skills safely!

Bar Basics Workshop
What’s it about? Focusing on the basic bar skills first learned such as swings, casts and pull overs as well as the essential upper body strengthening skills needed for working on bars. Perfect for any bar monkeys who like to “hang” out in the playground!

Cartwheel Workshop
What’s it about? Focusing on sideways motion, gymnasts will practice drills, learn technique and develop the skills necessary to perform and perfect a cartwheel! A great workshop for those struggling with learning cartwheel.
Time: 5.30 – 6.30pm
Who: children aged 5-8 yrs, beginners or experienced gymnasts
Splits & Bridge Flexibility Workshop
What’s it about? Every girl wants to be able to do the splits and being able to do so can really help in achieving some really cool gymnastics skills such as beautiful, jumps and leaps and Aerials. Combined with working on the Bridge in this workshop it will really help to get closer to achieving Walkovers and Kickovers. We’ll work stretches and active exercises to help improve flexibility which is great overall for the body, children participating in other sports also need good flexibility to prevent injury and to perform better!

Who: Girls aged 7+ ideally with previous coached gymnastics experience, or dancers looking for work their flexibility and of course for children involved in other sports!

Front & Back Handspring Preparation Workshop
What’s it about? This workshop will focus on the essential preparation skills, strengthening and shaping in order to perform both Front and Back Handsprings. Similar to the Round Off the Front Handspring can become a tool to build up power before performing other cool skills like somersaults!

Beam Skills Workshop
What’s it about? At only 4 inches wide Balance Beam requires a lot of hard work and determination even to be brave enough to walk or jump on it let alone Handstand or Cartwheel on it! We’ll focus on the basic movements and skills on the beam working up towards to developing a Handstand.

NEW to this summers line up is our Rolling Workshop which will cover the fundamentals of rolling including forwards, backwards and sideways rolls and up to Handstand Forward Rolls for those who have mastered the Handstand! Learning how to roll correctly can be great for children who play field contact sports as they will learn how to roll correctly to avoid injury!
