Parking
As per the terms agreed when registering your gymnast for gymnastics classes, members must only park in spaces designated to Sugarloaf Gymnastics. These spaces are marked out clearly with Sugarloaf Gymnastics signage. If there is not a space available please wait until another parent/guardian has dropped off their gymnast and their car has pulled out, to park. Hover over the images below for a description.
Once your gymnast has been dropped off, you can exit the business park to the left of Sugarloaf Gymnastics, drive around the back of the building to aid traffic flow. In the interest of health and safety, children are not permitted to play in the business park and should be kept close to you at all times. Please respect our neighbouring units and do not park in their spaces.
What do I do on my first day?
Following parking in the correct spaces, gymnasts and parents/guardians will be greeted by Sharon and Jamie and the gymnasts name checked against the class lists.
Gymnasts will then place all of their belongings in a locker (we advise to bring as little to class as possible), remove their shoes and socks. Gymnasts will then sit on the red floor mats where they will be welcomed by the group coaches and parents/ guardians head off as class will begin promptly.
What happens on my first day in class?
Gymnasts will take part in a fun warm up – either a game or a dance, instructed by the coaches. Warm up begins promptly so all gymnasts must be present for this. One hour classes will work on 2 apparatus per week, while our 2 hour Teen Classes will work on all apparatus. We recommend that parents/guardians show the above picture of the gym to children who will be new to class so that they are familiar with the set up upon arrival at Sugarloaf Gymnastics.
What does my child wear to gymnastics?
For girls – leotards are preferable, leggings or shorts can be worn over these. Otherwise a fitted t-shirt or swimming togs with fitted leggings or shorts are suitable. Hair must be neatly tied back, hair cannot be loose. Boys can wear fitted tracksuit bottoms or shorts and a fitted t-shirt. Gymnasts take part in bare feet. Information on where to purchase leotards can be found via our FAQ section.
