On Monday July 4th we kick off our Summer Program, camps and classes for both members and non- members. We look forward to welcoming new children and also to seeing some familiar faces throughout July and August. We have compiled the below frequently asked questions to help you on your first day at Sugarloaf Gymnastics Summer Program.
Parking at Sugarloaf Gymnastics
There are 6 spaces to the front, 11 to the side (including the yellow box) and 2 at the back of the building. Please use all of the spaces. Ensure that you only park in spaces which are designated to Sugarloaf Gymnastics, these are clearly marked with signage. If parked in the space of another company, you will be asked to move your car. If a space is not free, circle around the building, as we operate a swift drop and go system, a car should have then pulled out, leaving a space free. Please try to fill up the spaces from the side of the building and not starting directly at the front.
What do I do when I arrive on the first day?
For Camps – check the list on the noticeboard, tick that your child’s emergency contact number is correct.
For Classes – please speak to one of our coaches who will have class lists on hand, you can confirm that your emergency contact number is correct with them.
Gymnasts should then put their belongings into a locker or onto the bench at the drop off zone and come onto the floor mats for warm up where a coach will be waiting for them.We recommend that children bring as little as possible to class. Parents can then head off and children will begin warm up and class activities. A roll call is taken once the gymnasts have finished their warm up.
Which camp /class did I book my child into?
To view this information search for the receipt that was emailed to you upon payment, or log on to your Easy Payments Plus account to view your booking history. The dates are listed on our website.
All camps run 1pm – 4pm Monday – Thursday, with the exception of the first camp in August which runs Tuesday – Thursday.
What does my child wear?
A leotard is preferable but not compulsory. Girls can wear a swim suit, tshirt, leggings or shorts. No jeans, skirts or tights please. In the interest of safety, hair must be tied up. Boys can wear a tshirt, shorts or closed cuff tracksuit bottoms. No jewellery is permitted.
Does my child need a lunch / drink?
For camp, gymnasts need a small healthy snack and a drink of water. No nuts of any kind are permitted – including popcorn. For classes gymnasts will just need a drink.
Collection / Drop off Time
Collection and drop off time is always busy – please ensure to comply with parking, waiting until a space is free. Again, to keep this time running smoothly we recommend for children to bring as little as possible.
Please arrive on time, but not more than 10 mins before class begins/ends. It is particularly upsetting for the younger children to arrive after all the others have started. Please ensure you are punctual collecting your child as coaches will be teaching the next class or the gym may be closing following your child’s class. Please do not drop off your own or any other child early to watch the classes/camps unattended. We cannot be responsible for these children until their own class begins – or any other child.
